Description

<P>The Fibre Channel Storage Hub 12 is an intelligent, managed 12-port hub that attaches up to eleven Fibre Channel Arrays to the Fibre Channel Host Adapter for support of up to 132 1-inch or 88 1.6-inch hard drives per server slot. The Fibre Channel Storage Hub 12 will verify the integrity of any external unit connected to one of its ports. An externally connected Fibre Channel node that does not conform to specification is not allowed to degrade the integrity of the rest of the Fibre Channel Loop. The Fibre Channel Storage Hub 12 has a management option comprised of a plug-in module and a management software package. Features such as topology views, performance information, environmental information, alerts and events logs are included. Also, an enhanced network management and diagnostic capability is available on current shipping Compaq Storage Hub 12 units, management features that are not supported by the initial hardware release of the Compaq Storage Hub 12. The management software is designed to be launched as a standalone solution. Additionally, StorageWorks Command Console (SWCC) is integrated with the Compaq Storage Hub 12 Management Utilities. The managed 12 port hub is the ideal solution when the best slot utilization or large capacities are required. The Fibre Channel Storage Hub 12 is supported in all multivendor configurations utilizing the RAID Array 8000 or the Enterprise Storage Array 12000. As many as two Enterprise subsystems or 144 disk drives may be connected to one Fibre Channel Storage Hub 12. Windows NT Server platforms are also supported in this configuration. </P>
