This high-performance, compact, and affordable switching platform is ideal for a large server farm or for aggregating switches in a wiring closet. Its optional expansion module lets you deploy additional gigabit media such as 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX, and 1000BASE-LH70 (long-haul Gigabit Ethernet) in the same platform. Features: Nonblocking gigabit switching performance delivers a forwarding rate of more than 41 million packets per second across all ports. Layer 2 switching functionality such as multicast filtering, virtual LANs, link aggregation, and RMON supports demanding applications. Advanced Class of Service support lets you prioritize critical traffic (check support.3com.com for availability of multilayer classification). Transparent webcache redirection enables Web traffic to be redirected automatically to a 3Com SuperStack 3 Webcache, easing administration (check support.3com.com for availability.
